Weekly News & Homework: March 4th-8th

We had so much fun dressing up and celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday. Thank you for all of your help, time, donations, and to all of our guest readers! Make sure to check out our pictures on the ParentSquare post.  The school has been working hard to get our class enough iPads for each student to have their own to use in class!! As of this week, we have enough!!! That being said, you may send a pair of headphones for your child to use on their very own  iPad at school each day if you would like to. (If you are unable to, I do have extra headphones.) If you DO send some in, please clearly label them with your child's name, so I know which iPad to connect them to! THANK YOU! :) Parent Conferences for this trimester will be on a NEED ONLY basis and will be taking place the last week of school before Spring Break. Weekly News: February 25-March 1 HAPPY DR. SEUSS WEEK!! This week, we are celebrating Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss' birthday! It's going to be a fun-filled week with a silly something to wear each day! On Monday I will be sending home a Reading Log! This can be filled out all week with books your child reads throughout the week. There will be prizes for the students who read the most books!!! We are also participating in a class competition with another kindergarten class to see which class can read the most books in a week!!! It will be a fun week of READING, READING, READING!!! :)  Monday:   Silly Sock Day {come to school in your silliest socks!} Tuesday: Stripes and/or Polka-dots Day Wednesday:   Wacky Hat Wednesday {I can't wait to see all of those wacky hats!} Thursday:   Rhyme Time Day {dress in rhyme - some examples are: a green queen, a fish with a dish, a cook with a book, etc. Have fun!} Friday: Relax and Read D

Weekly News: February 18-22 Thank you all so much for the Valetine's day gifts, goodies, and cards! Also, thank you so much for your donations and time to make our Valentine's Day celebration so special and fun! :) I hope you enjoy a relaxing three-day weekend with your families. We've been having a lot of fun learning about presidents! This week, we will read and write about Abraham Lincoln as we study his life.  Next week (February 25-March 1) we are celebrating Read Across America Week and celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday! As part of our Read Across America celebration, we are welcoming guest readers into our classroom throughout the week! If you or someone you know (grandma, grandpa, neighbor, friend, doctor, librarian, etc!) would like to come and read your favorite story to our kindergarten class, please sign up on ParentSquare (coming soon)! Weekly News: February 11-15 I hope you enjoyed a relaxing three-day weekend with your families. We have another three day weekend coming up next week, as there is  no school on Monday, February 18th.  We had a great time on our field trip! Thank you to all of the parents that were able to come along and chaperone! :) We will be celebrating Valentine's Day with fun centers on Thursday. Don't forget to bring your valentines for the class and your mailboxes!! Students will be passing out valentines to their friends during our centers.  For the next two weeks, our kindergarten classes will be having a sight word and letter team challenge! Each student will be coming home with a sight word review sheet and a letter team review sheet in his or her backpack. Practice these sheets every night and keep studying those flashcards! We will be practicing our sight words and letter teams in class, as well as playing fun sight word and letter team games. At the end

Weekly News: February 4-8 Mark your calendars for two three-day weekends coming up in a row, as there is no school next Monday, February 11th and no school on Monday, February 18th.  I (Mrs. Bobrink) will be back on Monday! :) Our field trip is Wednesday! We will be going to the Children's Museum of the Desert. Permission Slips for this field trip will be sent home last week - if you have not turned this in yet, please sign and return by Tuesday at the latest. On this day, w e will be leaving school  immediately at 8:15  so we are asking that all students meet at the classroom at 8:00 so we can get ready and load the bus.  On this day, please pack your child a lunch in a paper bag.  No lunch boxes please.  We will be eating our “sack” lunches at the museum following the tour.  Don't forget to wear your ILCS  shirt. Thank you to the parents that have emailed me to chaperone.  Chaperones can choose to ride or follow the bus and will pay a cash fee of $10.00
